Mark joined the Royal Hobart Hospital in March 2000. The RHH is the largest public hospital in the State of Tasmania.

Mark became a member of HIMAA in 2006 Mark has participated in the Professional Development Credentialing Scheme and is currently a HIMAA Senior Associate Member.Mark became a HIMAA Board Director in November 2015
During his time at the RHH, Mark has undertaken multiple major projects including deployment of a digital scanned record system, state-wide PAS deployment, deployment of multiple service specific Clinical Information Systems, facilitation of community based Integrated Care Centres by way of shared electronic medical record set up and access; and is a key player in the amalgamation of clinical records on an area and state-wide basis. Mark is actively involved in the state-wide development of a Shared electronic Health Record (SeHR) through scanning and “portal” solutions and has been a key player is supporting deployment of the PCeHR in Tasmania.
Mark has an extensive background in client services and has honed these skills over 30 years whilst undertaking numerous interstate positions in many fields.
Marks current role is varied, including the overall management of the Patient Information Management Services (PIMS) Department of the RHH, Tasmanian health service- Southern Region. This includes a total of over 180 staff through; Outpatient Appointment Schedulers and Theatre Bookings (Outpatients), Clinical Classification and Information (Coding), Clinical Transcription, Medical Records (with a scanned record system holding over 26 million scanned images and one million electronic entries), Patient Administration System (PAS), Inpatient Services Unit (Wards and Admissions), Emergency Department Clerical team, Corporate Records, Patient Travel Assistance Scheme, coordination of Mental Health and Health Information (FOI/RTI) information release.
Mark is currently in the process of completing his Masters in Health and Human Services.
