The Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service are currently on the lookout for two Senior Clinical Coders to join their hard-working team in the Clinical Coding Unit. As a Senior Clinical Coder, you'll assist the Central Queensland and Central West Health Services to meet Activity Based Funding data submission requirements through the following responsibilities:
Review the medical record and other sources of information (such as AUSLAB) in order to identify principal diagnosis, additional diagnoses and any procedures relevant to the inpatient episode of care.
Develop and maintain an understanding of the uses of coded morbidity data.
Assist the Clinical Coding Service to meet monthly deadlines by prioritising work, undertaking external coding and site visits as required and actively participating in the morbidity data submission process.
Participate in the Coder-Clinician Liaison (CCL) program.
