The Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service are currently on the lookout for two Senior Clinical Coders to join their hard-working team in the Clinical Coding Unit. As a Senior Clinical Coder, you'll assist the Central Queensland and Central West Health Services to meet Activity Based Funding data submission requirements through the following responsibilities:
- Review the medical record and other sources of information (such as AUSLAB) in order to identify principal diagnosis, additional diagnoses and any procedures relevant to the inpatient episode of care.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the uses of coded morbidity data.
- Assist the Clinical Coding Service to meet monthly deadlines by prioritising work, undertaking external coding and site visits as required and actively participating in the morbidity data submission process.
- Participate in the Coder-Clinician Liaison (CCL) program.
