HIM Coding Auditor & Data Reporting – Permanent Full Time

Based in Victoria and reporting to the National HIS Manager and Melbourne HIS Manager, you will be a key member of the HIS Private Division Team.  In this position you will undertake the following tasks:

  • ICD-10 AM Clinical Coding and DRG assignment
  • Data reporting for SVHA Griffith and Melbourne
  • Various Health Information Service (HIS) audits
  • Manage external health fund audit responses for SVHA Private Division: Medibank
  • 0-28 Day Readmissions Audit and Hospital Acquired Complications (HACs) Audit
  • Support and manage M&M, Craft Group and Clinical Indicator Data and in-house data systems for SVHA Private Division

Essential

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia
  • 6+ years’ experience in ICD-10 AM Coding and DRG assignment

Preferable

  • Private hospital experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with medical record scanning software
  • Experience in working alongside health fund auditors
  • Experience conducting coding and DRG audits including providing constructive feedback to coding staff
  • Confident in delivering education sessions to coding staff
  • Completion of a clinical coding auditing course

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with ICD-10AM Clinical Coding and Grouper versions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to self-motivate and lead others
