Part Time Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder
Pay scale: Dependent upon experience
Health Information Services is seeking applications from suitably qualified HIMs and Clinical Coders for a coding vacancy at Cabrini’s brand new Hawthorn East campus near the Camberwell Junction. Our team are also rostered on a rotating basis to the Malvern campus, providing the best of both worlds – operational within a hospital and corporate within a large office environment
The position is part time, 53.2 hours (7 x 7.6) per fortnight with days of work being Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (fortnightly) and Friday.
Cabrini is a large not-for-profit Catholic health care organisation with almost 800 beds on 4 campuses across the continuum of care with an extensive and interesting casemix including all acute specialities, rehabilitation and mental health.

Health Information Services provides a range of services including medical record retrieval and delivery, clinical coding and analysis, data reporting, release of information and forms design. Once coding training is completed, the incumbent will have the opportunity to become involved in some of these other responsibilities dependent upon business requirements and skills.
Essential criteria for this position are:
- Passion for accurate coding and a genuine desire to learn and improve;
- Sound working knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards and their application;
- Attention to detail whilst still able to work to deadlines;
- Ability to be team orientated and adapt to new challenges;
- Positive attitude;
- Knowledge of private hospital coding an advantage.
