UnitingCare are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Group Health Information Manager to oversee the Health Information Services of their four Qld Hospitals.

The Role & Your Background

The position of Group Health Information Manager will lead and accept responsibility for the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of the provision of health information services for UnitingCare hospitals including Medical Records management, clinical data management, and Health Information Access services in both a paper and digital environment.

Your primary focus will be on strategy, influencing practice and coordination of the function at group level.

As a key stakeholder in driving the UnitingCare Digital Strategy, your high-level knowledge and understanding of developments in health information/records management will enable you to provide expert advice to the Executive and clinicians on matters relating to health information management and patient/clinical information systems. Your skills and experience in leadership have equipped you with exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong, effective relationships, both within your team and externally, enabling you to drive initiatives and targets to completion.

In addition to the above you will present with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management and equivalent experience in a similar role for 8 – 10 years.
  • Eligibility for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Health information industry practices and emerging trends
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations and other guidelines which impact on the operation and functions of patient data collection and reporting, including privacy guidelines, release of information and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex organisational problems and develop solutions that enable our organisation to achieve our goals
