WHO WE ARE

VCS Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation drawing on over 50 years of expertise in cancer prevention through pathology services, cancer screening and vaccination registries. VCS Foundation has helped to reduce the mortality rate from cervical cancer in Victoria to half that of the rest of Australia. The purpose of VCS Foundation aligns with the World Health Organization's Call to Action to eliminate cervical cancer for all women.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Data and Reporting Project Officer and Analyst will play a key role in supporting the data and reporting functions of VCS Population Health including working with sensitive population health and cancer screening datasets. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide critical project support for the expansion of the cancer screening data and reporting solution including co-ordination and tracking of project tasks, risk identification and reporting.
  • Lead and undertake key project activities including preparing data specifications, developing business and transformation rules, reviewing and analysing incoming datasets, testing, preparing resources, and conducting training to support the integration of cancer screening and related datasets.
  • Extract and provide data and reports for monitoring and evaluation; program planning and delivery; operations and management; statistical reporting and research activities
  • Utilise Business Intelligence reporting tools, standard reports and other software packages to produce data and reports, including the translation and interpretation of data into dashboards, briefings, and discussion papers
  • Analyse and interpret complex and sensitive population health datasets to assess and ensure the quality and integrity of data, including the identification of data anomalies, data gaps, trends and emerging issues
  • Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with project partners and stakeholders

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification e.g. Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Public Health, Epidemiology
  • Experience in leading and supporting data projects
  • Experience in data extraction, analysis, and production of statistical reports.
  • Exceptional report writing, business intelligence and statistical software skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
