Clinical Coder (Full Time - Fixed Term – 12 Months) 

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic clinical coder to join our supportive coding team. You will benefit from our coding education & mentor program and extensive internal and external coding audits.  You will also be working for one of the leading private not-for-profit healthcare providers in NSW whilst performing the following:

  • Allocate accurate disease and procedure codes for inpatient episodes using

ICD-10-AM

  • Assign DRGs to all coded records
  • Liaise with relevant areas to obtain additional information required to perform

coding

  • Participate in coding audits and education sessions
  • Participate in monthly coding meetings
  • Perform other duties associated with coding e.g. - cancer registration,
  • documentation audits, PICQ and RISQ indicators

Applicants will have:

  • Completion of HIMAA Clinical Coding Course, or Health Information
  • Management qualifications
  • At least two years clinical coding experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian Coding Standards
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and meet deadlines
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements
