The Health Information Management Association of Australia Ltd (HIMAA) is the peak professional body for health information management (HIM) professionals in Australia.  It has been serving the health information management profession since 1949.
HIMAA promotes and supports our members as the universally recognised specialists in health information management at all levels of the healthcare system. We do this by:

    • Developing strategy to position the profession positively in the healthcare environment
    • Advocating policy and positions to better enable health information management professionals to contribute effectively to health care delivery
    • Developing quality and practice standards to support the standing of our members in their workplaces
    • Ensuring workforce supply through quality education and training

About the role

Reporting under direction as delegated by the Board; the CEO will provide the management oversight for the effective and efficient functioning of the organisation offering clear leadership internally and externally to the organisation’s stakeholders.

As part of our modernisation, our new Chief Executive Officer will create a technology-enabled organisation leveraging on our successes to build our reputation and profile so as to develop new opportunities and diversification of income streams for our members and profession.

As a National organisation, we are open to the location of our Chief Executive Officer being flexible.

The successful candidate will be a leader who will be forward thinking, will energise and direct our collective efforts, proactively propel the growth of HIMAA both at a member and organisational level, actively enhance the business and provide strategic leadership with the Board.

Applications are encouraged from qualified and experienced professionals with demonstrated CEO experience. A strong understanding of Registered Training Organisation as well as experience in the NFP sector is highly desirable.
