Regional Health Information Manager – Central Coast, NSW,
Position based at Gosford Private Hospital
A vacancy exists for an experienced Health Information Manager within the Health Information Department at Gosford Private Hospital. The position is a regional role which encompasses service delivery to all three Healthe Care Central Coast Hospitals – Gosford, Brisbane Waters & Tuggerah Lakes.
This position is responsible for effective and efficient management of Healthe Cares’ Central Coast Health Information Department which is located at Gosford Private Hospital. Responsibilities will include management, leadership and education to an existing team of dedicated non-clinical health professionals within the department.
You will expand your knowledge and skills to provide education to clinical staff to assist in effective documentation to ensure optimum coding results. You will ensure all contractual and legislative reporting requirements are met. Management and co-ordination of clinical coding, indexing and DRG assignment functions will form part of your daily duties to ensure all three hospitals are meeting the expected benchmarks set by HCA.
The position is a full time position primarily based at Gosford, however travel between the three hospitals will be required at times.
Degree/Diploma in Health Information Management/Medical Records Administration or equivalent
Working knowledge of State and Commonwealth Government Statutory requirements
Knowledge of health funds and their requirements
Knowledge of Medico-legal and Privacy Legislation and principles
Competent keyboard skills and efficient use of MS Office
Demonstrated customer service skills
Recent (within 2-3 years) experience in clinical coding in a tertiary hospital setting
Minimum of two years management experience in a similar role
Experience with Turbo Coder software
Eligible for membership with Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
Experience in hospital mainframe system – WebPAS & Cyberquery
