Chief Health Information Manager

Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Chief Health Information Manager to join the Health Information Unit team on a Fixed term Maternity Leave Position (part time or full time) from December 22 till Feburary 24.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer this role plays an important role in leading the Health Information Unit (HIU) at Latrobe Regional Hospital to deliver timely access to patient information. This role will also co-ordinate compliance with privacy, FOI and Subpoena legislation, and lead the improvement of Health Information Services generally across the hospital.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including financial and human resource management
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant acts and guidelines including Freedom of Information, Privacy and records management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication including experience in analysing data, writing reports and making recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for decision making within area of responsibility
  • Comprehensive understanding of coding standards
  • Strong customer service skills and focus
