Royal Darwin Hospital is the Northern Territory’s largest tertiary referral and teaching hospital and Australia’s National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre. It is a University Teaching Hospital providing acute hospital services to the residents of the Top End of the Northern Territory, while acting as a tertiary referral hospital for the remainder of the Northern Territory, the Kimberley region of Western Australia and the northern neighbours in the event of a man made or natural disaster in the region. The Hospital has a catchment population of some 150 000 people and directly serves an area of 127 000 km2.
Coding in the Top End is guaranteed to be a totally different experience to anywhere else in the country and while working at Royal Darwin Hospital you will gain exposure to a unique case mix that can only enhance your future in coding.
You should have experience in complex ICD-10-AM, ACHI coding and DRG grouping according to Australian Coding Standards, in accordance with the International Statistical Classification Of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) and Australian Coding Standards (ACS), 11th Edition, in an acute care tertiary level hospital with high quality and productivity results as well as good organizational skills, strong work ethic and ability to communicate effectively with all staff. You should have experience in performing and coordinating coding quality audits. You should be able to communicate effectively with health care professionals and co-workers to achieve quality coding information.
